Bath vs. Aston vs. Edinburgh

Please HELP!!!
I got offers for the following programs:

Bath - Int. Managment and Spanish
Aston - Int. Business and Managment
Edinburgh - Int. Business

I cant decide where to go! Things important to me include quality of teaching of course and how good of a qualification it is, how nice the uni is, SOCIAL LIFE opportunities, like places to go out hang out, PARTY:beer:. How good the general living standard is there (housing, food, etc.) Sport possibilities, etc.
Bath has a good reputation but Im afraid its too much of a countriside setting for me. Im an int. student so dont wanna travel far from an airport and want good job opportunities.

PLEEEZ HELP - thanks so much

Mmmm, given that you don't want to live in a small town but want to get a good degree, I would go for Edinburgh. I think it has a pretty good rep. abroad and the city is apparently quite nice!

Um without a doubt Bath! One of the best business schools in the country:1st Oxford, 2nd LSE, 3rd Warwick 4th Bath/Nottingham. Aston is a good business school, nothing compared to the afformentioned though and its reputation as a whole isn't that great. Edinburgh has a good rep, probs not as good as Bath though and their business courses aren't hot to be honest

Aston is in the centre of Britain's second city, doesn't get much sociable than that really :/

you know we're all going to reply with 'come to edinburgh' don't you? out of your list i'd go for edinburgh anyway, as i don't like birmingham and again, although bath is a lovely place (my best friend lives there) it is very countryside-ish. but then you've got bristol about 30 mins away so its not too bad. i'd chose edinburgh as its a capital city and a very very highly regarded university internationally.

the airport in edinburgh is really close to the city and you can get a shuttle bus service which costs £5 for an open return ticket. It takes about 30 minutes on the bus, and the bus goes straight to the city centre by the railway station. i did that when i came to the open day, it was really easy.

well we've already started planning our social activities- ice skating, having a meal and which societies we want to join! if you go on the Edinburgh Students Soc thread most of the people with edinburgh as their firm post there

Bath is a brilliant university and of the three is the highest rated. Both the campus and the city are nice to live in. There are loads of clubs in Bath although they are all quite small. You are only 15 minutes from Bristol which has an airport and bigger clubs etc.
In terms of sports opportunities Bath is probably best in the country.

Edinburgh. It has a good rep and a great social life which is clearly important to you.
yes, Bath as well its bussiness school is much better than Edinburgh and it is better than Aston's as well. I would put Bath as firm and Aston as insurance. Can't comment on social life though.

My two main choices are Bath and Aston, Aston first though, because it's bang in the middle, the tutors are nice and I liked the labs etc...I also like bham city...the shopping...

I don't like the bath accent...haha *blush* sorry about that people in bath!

I didn't apply for Edinburgh...too cold!! brr haha...

I can't tell ya about the course but the social life is awesome. You have all the clubs in town and a varied mix of things going on at the Students Guild. Everything is on your doorstep.

The cheep accomadation is not the most good looking accomadation ever but it serves its purpose you can cook, eat, wash and sleep in them whereas the more expensive lakeside is a bit more comfortable with ensuit.
Business Studies is the poor mans Economics. Dudes, do a real degree.

Bath is brilliant for nearly everything.

However, there isn't a great music scene - and arts facilities at Bath are servely lacking, which is something the Uni are currently looking into.

Apart from that, it's a far better Uni that either Aston or Edinburgh

easy peasy.. edinburgh. bath is a bit small and quaint for me, and i dont like astons position (next to a motorway)

If you want a good social life then Aston is great.

It is in Birmingham City centre (10 minutes away from the Bullring and infamous Selfridges).
But more importantly is the nightlife (as far as I'm concerned). Broad Street is awesome, rammed with clubs and bars.

Plus Aston were rated number 1 on RokStudent for nightlife and #4 for job opportunities or whatnot.

Now my blatent plug is finished

Right Bath's nearest airport is Bristol, which is a good 20 minutes away by train n 2 get 2 the train station in bristol from the airport is another 20/30 min bus journey, so ur prob looking at about an hr away from the airport.

Aston's nearest airport is Birmingham, which is 10 min train journey from nearest rail station, which is 2 min taxi or 20 min walk depending on preference.

Edinburgh I'm afraid don't know exact logistics but does have it's own airport.

Social life wise I would have to say that Edinburgh probably has a better reputation but also higher prices. Birmingham has a mix of cheap n expensive, which have different music policies etc. Bath I've not been socialising there but I've heard good things from mates who go there but with my knowledge of Bath I'd probably say you won't drink cheaply there.

For course they are all very good but as someone who does IBAM (International Business and Management) at Aston I can say with doubt it is brilliantly taught n everything links in together, which gives good grounding for business.

So all in all, Aston ticks more of your boxes than the other unis.

Forgot to mention sport and this is probably the only one where Aston lets itself down slightly if you play sport to a high level. In terms of best place to do sport it is without a shadow of a doubt Bath - the sports facilities there r one of the best in the country (probably top 5). However, Aston caters for a lot of sports but as I say if you want to play to a high standard (I mean you represent your state/region/country etc) then Bath is place for you
