1. The impulse can be considered as a change in momentum
Since the masses are constant, then the changes are in velocity only.

Truck A
15000*dv = 30000
dv=2 m/s
i.e. 8 m/s -> 6 m/s
so, new speed of A = 6 m/s
=================

Truck B
10000*dv = 30000
dv=3 m/s
i.e. 4 m/s -> 7 m/s
so, new speed of B = 7 m/s
=================

KE before collision = 1/2*15000*8^2 + 1/2*10000*4^2
= 480,000 + 80,000
= 560,000 Nm
=========

KE after collision = 1/2*15000*6^2 + 1/2*10000*7^2
= 270,000 + 245,000
= 515,000 Nm
=========

So, loss in KE = 560 - 515
= 45 kNm
