Hi guys,

I am scared of sleeping with a girl - I am just really worried I will be **** at it and I can't take being bad at anything.

Imagine how difficult a 1000 piece jigsaw is. Now imagine it with only two pieces it's a lot easier. Then again 1000 piece jigsaws are a lot more fun and you can spend an entire afternoon doing them rather than 10 seconds. Basically I lost my train of thought and have no idea what you should do with your jigsaw dilemma.

Maybe you could bang an ugly chick to practice on, or maybe get partially drunk and bang a girl and claim you were bad because you were drunk. Still a virgin cause I genuienly believe in losing it to the right guy. I go to Uni so its not exactly difficult, I have had a couple of guys in my bed, after nights out but I was only close to having sex with 1 on Friday. I didn't because I have this idea that I will not be respected by him if I did, as this was the first time we shared a bed.

First of all, you're being misogynistic and sexist by rating them and discarding those you feel a too lowly rated for you. So, yeah, that's an issue.
Secondly, you're assuming all 'good looking', 19 year old girls aren't virgins anymore...

This is what he's trying to explain to you.

I don't see why rating girls is misogynistic, sure, it doesn't factor in their personality, but the idea still exists. Girls also rate guys in their own minds and often tell their friends so stop acting as if it's the boys who are the guilty party. As a race, we are very sexual and sexualised - whether you like it or not.

Not all good looking 19 year olds are non-virgins but let's look at the facts:
- 19 is 3 years over the age of maturity, of which many don't even adhere to (underage sex and so on)
- There may be a lot of good-looking virgins that age in the UK, but how many are in the city that he lives in and what are the chances of meeting them? Or afterwards, them liking the OP enough to agree to sex?
- Many of those that are virgins are so perhaps due to cultural or religious reasons as well.
- Don't forget that the OP may have his own preferences too, hair colour, eyes, personality - maybe even race, who knows?

So when you factor all of this in, it doesn't look too good does it?
Of course, the argument could be made that some of the girls that go to clubs, go because they are virgins and want some. But even then, some of the aforementioned points still apply - and it is the only argument I can come up with which is contrary to my general direction.

This would describe a situation where only 0.3 19-year-old girls in the country are virgins. As I have already found one girl that is a virgin I have refuted your argument. I should bow to your high IQ, awesome looks and "gaming" abilities. However, your lack of fact checking disregard of facts and susceptibility to exaggerating makes you look incredibly insecure and trying to give meaning to a shallow life. I would try to take a step back and evaluate why you feel the need to have sex. Is it primarily because of pressure from external influences or is losing your virginity another achievement. When you find a deeper answer then I suggest you try it.

You really have two possible approaches, both of which I have seen suggested:

1. You find someone special. You are together because you love each other, and then there is no shame in not being good at sex; you're in it for the long haul, so you'd both be expecting to practice together. Being good at sex from the word go only matters for quick shags.

2. You find someone who is most definitely not special. You will do everything wrong, but that's okay, because this is not someone you're particularly bothered about meeting up with again. Then you have some idea of what you're doing for the ones that matter.

Either way, the girl being a virgin herself makes it less pressured on you, but this could just add more difficulties.

Don't over think it mate, if you get as far as the bed then it's plain sailing, in and out. If it helps have a drink to loosen up before. If the other person is more experienced in bed and they sense you're not, they'll take over.
