Applying to Combined Honours

Can I apply to Combined Honours in Social Sciences with a Liberal Arts statement?

Is there anyone who has applied to this programme who can give me some general advice, it would be much appreciated!

For Durham you can substitute an alternative PS. So you can write a combined SS one just for Durham and use it

This

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I used a PPE personal statement and (despite there being a specific PPE course at Durham) was still granted a conditional for next years combined honours in social sciences  so I don't think you need to worry about it too much, use the alternate PS anyway though, it can only improve your chances !

Thank you both! Akanai, did you write an alternative PS as well?

I didn't write an alternative personal statement, I just used the one I was using as the subjects I had put as intending to study were the same as the subjects I applied for at other universities

Like everyone else has stated, there is flexibility.

I'm also going to Durham University for the Combined Honours in Social Sciences (with Foundation Year).

Hi! Did you send an extra PS? What other universities did you apply to?

I sent my original, as I was hoping to studying Psychology/Sociology and what not - they accepted it perfectly fine!

You can apply to Arts and then switch over to Social Sciences once you've got the A*AA and have a place! It says so in the prospectus.

Or you can keep the Arts degree and still do up to half of your modules in Social Sciences. They seem to be really flexible about it.

I have an offer for Arts but will probably switch over to Social Sciences as the Politics modules look much more exciting than the History ones.
