I always get sore throats and when I do I notice that at the back of my throat I get blister like spots at the back. They can be really painful. Does anyone know any good painkillers to take because paracetamol doesn’t seem to touch it:frown:

I have tried diclofenac but that makes me feel ill when I take it, as does gargling with aspirin.

ouch, that sounds really sore, I think you should consult a doctor on it, I would say do regular salt water gargle, but I'm not sure if that will make your current blisters feel more sore. Certainly start when it goes.
Try Oraldene mouthwash, it's designed specially to be antiseptic and stuff, and it won't blow your head off like listerene. It's the one that dentists tend to give you to rinse with after having some work done, it's really good.

Yep it is sore. What makes it really annoying is I had my tonsils out 6 months ago and although there’s no more tonsillitis these annoying blisters have replaced having tonsillitis every month. :frown:

Theres no winning

Apparently, white spots are a sign of Tonsilitis. It's best to visit your doctor when this happens, who will be able to properly diagnose you and give you some antibiotics.

I hope you feel better soon.

Luckily it cant be tonsillitis, as I don’t have any tonsils:smile:

The spots are not white but large pinkish/red blistery things- yuck.

I am just going to survive on strepsils and hope it passes soon.
Ibuprofen for the pain.
Thye may possibly be ulcers, in which case Oraldene as previously suggested would be useful, or Aloclair, which is specifically made for ulcers and mouth sores.
Erm, sorry to have to suggest this, but any chance it could be an STI?
