I know there is a thread about this, but i thought id have mine in a different one . I was thinking maybe join the police, would the met be hard to get into? I would like to join there i think, because its the heart of the country, and where theres more things happening.
Im 18 and 4 months at the moment, so i cant apply yet anyway, but how long does the application process take. Does anyone else want to join the met on here?
Any help or advice would be good. thanks

The Met aren't recruiting at the moment and are heavily over subscribed. It's also rife with political correctness and so unless you are very very PC aware you'll never get in anyway.

You'd be better off trying another force and then applying to transfer to the Met in a few years.

My mate applied for the Met and when I went to a careers fair he went with me. Here is what I learnt about how to get in:

Goto a careers fair where the MET is. You fill out an expression of interest form, then you get sent a graduate pack.

Dueto the Met political correctness you will be waiting over 2 years from the day you send off your form to when you will start at Hendon if you are a white, straight male and not fluent in any foreign language. Bear in mind Surrey police binned all white male applications recently as they under so much pressure to get more minorities. My friend is at UCL, fit, really charming and ****ing clever (hes going to Oxford for his masters) and he got rejected!!!

Anyways the actual minimum standards to pass Hendon are piss. This is so that any candidate no matter how bad they may be basically cant fail (5 on a fricking bleep test, I mean come on).

I was talking to a copper who I met at a party about this about this and she said the secret is to say that you are gay. They cant prove you are not, and if later on you get found out just say you turned. You should find your wait dramatically reduced . The copper also told me that since the standards are so low now she cannot rely on new officers in tricky situations which is a bit worrying

3 am and Im still up working :'(

My stepmother is in the met and if your a white male then its gonna be about 4 years before your offered a position. I would say your gay to get through as you'll be fast tracked.
