Partying but not Drinking Alcohol

Hi,
Being a Muslim, I dont drink Alcohol and Everytime I go to any party I end up bored when everone is drunk and ALL my friends drink alcohol.
I find it more difficult to have a good time with my mates because of this.

Anyone here who doesn't drink, How much do you like partying and do you find it harded to enjoy when people around you get drunk?

I find alcohol makes me more relaxed and I have been known to grow some balls and do stupid stuff, much to my regret in the morning.

When I'm driving though I can still have a good time and at least I am popular in the morning with people phoning me up asking WTF the hippocrocapig they pulled is still doing in their house.

i dont drink and i party, i like to socialize and meet people and have fun. i think maybe you feel socially isolated not becuase you dont drink but because of your culture. for example if you were with other muslims who did drink, would you have more fun? and not everyone who drinks gets drunk at parties
i dont drink either, and love going to partys, but its always seeems to be me who ends up sorting out my friends when they get drunk. so i do find it harder to enjoy myself, so genrally i sort them out and then try to find some less drunk people to talk to... which can be quite hard.

The best bit tho is the next morning remember all the things they did when they can't remember, and sometimes winding them up about it:p:

I can sympathise with you, because although I do drink quite a lot at times, when I'm having a "sober day" and my friends and all other people around me are drunk I find it harder to talk to them. Usually this is due to the fact that they make little sense or are acting rather stupid. It can sometimes be funny to watch people act so differently to how they would normally behave, but it can get little tiresome after a while!
Join the Teetotal society, you'll find lots of people like you! I don't drink at parties simply because I hate being drunk...I tend to become really really annoying to most people, so it's better to avoid it! But I still have a great time even when sober.
I don't drink either, I just try and get on with it, have a good time and try not to control anyone's behaviour (if they want to drink, its their choice) whilst trying to look after them when they need me.

The only thing that I find hard is when they try and force me to drink :frown: which I won't do. I always stick up for myself and give my reasons but sometimes I don't think they understand. But that's their problem and not mine!

I think it's good to have a friend who's also not drinking by your side to keep you company if things get a bit stupid. If you can, find someone who's in the same position as you because they'll know how you feel!

I normally get stupidly drunk when I go out, but the times when I don't drink I still have a good time just dancing and knowing I won't make a complete arse of myself. Cheaper too! Might do that 2night actually...

I still have fun at parties but not as much as most people.

Sometimes I dont drink when going to parties, and usually get a buz of everyone else, Just look at it as your not making silly mistakes unlike your friends, when they wake up in the morning feeling bad because theyve done something stupid you can wake up still feeling good knowing exactly what happened the night before and hang over free
eat lots of suger and drink redbull. then you will be to hyper to care
I don't drink, but I find that I become more uninhibited and have quite a bit of fun when people around me are drinking. When people are blind drunk and start having joint puking sessions, I do have a few friends who also don't drink who I can have sensible conversations with.

The trick is not to become the hyper-sensible teetotaller who stops everyone from doing anything stupid. Just let yourself go and enjoy yourself.
Not drinking much is great! It makes me sharper at attracting, then calibrating when to "have to go meet up with my friends now" and get an email+number harvest. It's all a game. Just play it however you like. I play to get the outcome *I* want. Others are "happy" simply getting drunk for their entertainment.
I don't drink and it doesn't affect me. Granted, I don't go out to pubs a lot, but when I go to a 'social' event, such as a special occasion, I find it really hard trying to defend myself, when people try to get me to drink...

People are really suprised when I say i don't drink, but I enjoy myself without it.
I'm also muslim. I don't drink either and i'm completely sober all the time. My friends know this and don't force it on me or anything. They are also sober for the most part but enjoy a drink now and then...

I suppose the fact that they appreciate my views on not drinking/ smoking means alot to me as i see some other people putting pressure on others...

Oh yeah, i don't really go to pubs/ bars or clubs... I go to alot of concerts and live band shows though.

I stopped drinking, it certainly makes the nights a lot more boring. I know if i had something to drink it'd be more enjoyable; but that's defeating the purpose of not drinking. I'm not that out-going so i usually feel really awkward to dance and stuff without alcohol. But i can live without it. As for house parties i feel more comfortable at those without alcohol because it's a more relaxed environment.
