should i just try and get over him?

ok,im sorry if this turns into a long post but anyway:
ive known one of my guy mates for just over 2 years and ive fancied him on/off for most of that time.but nothing has happened between us.
one of my girl mates (who ive known about the same time) seems to have a better relationship with him,i dont think theyve been out but sometimes they get quite close and hold hands and he kisses her on her head,but she refuses to go out with him (coz it could ruin their friendship)
basically,the problem ive started to fancy him again but theyve become quite close again and it hurts to see them together, sometimes he does flirt with me but i think he's more interested in my girl mate. what do you reckon?should i just try and get over him or something?

hmm difficult situation. perhaps you should talk to your friend, if shes not interested in him still then theres no reason you can't start getting him interested in you more than her. but if you can't get him to prefere you don't just go for him you probably should just move on.
