Well my intuition would tell me that cocaine is more harmful. Not sure why on the science side though!

cocaine by far.

I know im gonna get alot of people disagreeing with me here but its only really the media that make weed out to be so bad. To be honest, its not a whole lot worse than tobacco (less addictive, less likely to kill you.)

Cannabis is legal in some countries. I dont think cocaine is legal anywhere ( i could be totally wrong on that.) What does that suggest about the two?

What drug is worse when use mildly from time to time, cocaine or weed? And why?
Cocaine. It has much more potential to get you addicted after only a few times of using the drug. It also destroys lives because of the mentality change of the person using it (regular users are generally not nice people at all). People lose their friends and their money. I think cocaine will end up with the same reputation as heroin as it is becoming more readily available and that increases the scope for it to cause real problems in our country, in terms of crime, unemployment etc. - just like heroin.

Weed's also more likely to give you schizophrenia and make you paranoid.

Cocaine is more renound for causing psychological problems though. Theres hardly any evidence to prove that cannabis causes paranoia. I think cannabis does cause psychological problems after long term use, but not as much as cocaine.

A recent study in France showed that a joint is nine times more harmful (than a filtered cigarette. This idea that a joint is less harmful than a cigarette is nonsense.

Hurrah for claims without sources!!

I'd be less cynical, but every time we discuss the dangers of pot someone comes and posts this claim. I've got no issue with it, because afterall there's no filter on a joint (because d'uh, that's take away the point ) so *obviously* it's more harmful than a cigarette, my issue is that this number never stays the same, and we never get a source.

They're both harmful. I wouldn't recommend using either. Psychological studies have shown that when you smoke cannabis, the area of the brain which is activated in schizophrenics is activated, so basically you're simulating schizophrenia. Fun stuff, hmm?

If you're going to do one, do weed. It's less harmful than cocaine, I would imagine (but I might be wrong). But I wouldn't do either.

If you want to empty your wallet as quickly as possible then take coke. But it seems completely pointless to me to pay so much for something that really does nothing much other than make you want more.

The OP is talking about occasional use. Schitzophrenia from very light use of cannabis over a hort period of time is very unlikely. Cocaine on the other hand, well you can die. It's rare when compared to other drugs, say heroin, but you can die from taking it. Cocaine speeds up your heart and as a result people have heart attacks, even young people - you may not know you have high blood pressure etc. In comparison the effects of cannabis are only linked with long term, regular use. I think it's clear which is worse.
