    Hi guys!

I was wondering whether you computer science students have found any part time jobs that require computer skills, that is things like web design, programming (not a very advanced level of course) etc. These are things which I think even a first year compsci student should be able to do while studying at a university. So, are doing anything of the sort? I am asking because I am currently an upper secondary school student and I am trying to find ways to make money while at university so that I won't have to starve .

I know a lot of people do summer internships after second year and a small number of companies accept students after first year, but during term time you're probably better off doing something mind-numbing like bar work or in retail; at least you can guarantee earning something from this. There are a lot of web designers out there with a lot of experience, so unless you're fairly good at programming and have a great idea for an app then you probably won't earn that much working for yourself.
