I'd like to buy a heart rate monitor, as cheaply as possible, but obviously still want something that will actually work and will be as accurate as possible.

    any recommendations?

    thanks v much in advance.

They all pretty much do the same job. I can vouch for the Polar ones. The chest straps are comfortable with these. Not tried Garmin but apparently the strap on Polar are better. Try Amazon. Plenty of reviews for the most popular models.

I have the basic one. It is fine for basic functions. Used with a jog tracker on my phone it is a cheap way of checking my heart rate and distance run.

I got mine from Decathlon cheap and it works with a watch that you get with it. Works for me without any problems.

Don't think you can go far wrong with whatever one you do buy.
