Revising some employment law today. The slides accompanying the lecture (and the lecturer himself) said:

"The employer must notify the woman when the OML (ordinary maternity leave) will end within 28 days of being given notice of the intended commencement date of OML - Reg 4(2) Maternity and Parental Leave Regulations 1999".

But Reg 4(2) says nothing of the sort. I've looked through the regs and can't see any regulation that says anything like this either. The closest seems to be Reg 7(6) - 7(7) which says that the employer must notify when additional maternity leave period ends within 28 days"....

Does anyone know if the provision mentioned in my lecture exists at all, and if so what section it is? I suspect it is made up entirely...
