    Hi,

Have chosen Liverpool as my firm and now I need to start deciding on accommodation!

Really want to stay at Carnatic for the social life, but I was initially swayed towards self-catered.

I feel if I applied for one of the 16 self-catered places at Carnatic that I would be left out because everyone would always be eating together and that, instead of cooking together.

So is the catered food good, and is it worth the money?

    Cheers guys!

My boyfriend lived at Carnatic last year and when I stayed with him I ate there too. I always thought the food was pretty good and that there was quite a varied choice but it really depends on how fussy you are!

Hey, I'm at Carnatic now. In all honesty the food is awful, but you make loads of friends in catered. Go for it, just prepare yourself for bad meals!

I'm at Carnatic this year, and I can say that the food really honestly isn't that bad. As far as I know there isn't anyone self-catered here this year, and if you're sure you want to be definitely go to Greenbank - social life is pretty much just as good there.

The food here is fine. You always get a choice of about three mains, then the fast food option. There's salad and soup and veg and bread if you really can't stomach anything.

The food itself is essentially school dinner food which is alright. Choices usually include: Chicken breast in some sauce, spaghetti bolognese, stews, curries, noodles, roast dinner, sometimes salmon.

But tbh it really all depends what you make of it, I have plenty of friends at Greenbank who go out loads and have met loads of normal, fun people there, so if you're sure you want to be self catered go there!

Thanks for the answers everyone !

So basically the food is just not great, but catered is a way to meet loads of people?

Also I won't have to do any cooking, or more importantly, washing up hahahaha.

Think I'm gonna definitely choose catered, cheers guys
