So I just got a conditional offer from Bournemouth university to study multimedia journalism, I'm really excited as it's my first choice! However, I'm really uncertain that I'll get the required UCAS points...do you think this is a real problem? How strict are they when you get your final grades?

I have heard that even if you miss your offer, you may still get in if they really liked your application. I didn't go to the University of Liverpool last year because I missed by one distinction mark, and I contacted them to ask them to look at me again but they said sorry, no. Don't panic though, it depends on the admissions tutor, how much you miss your condition by, if at all, and your how competitive your subject is.
I'm sure you'll be fine, just make sure your insurance choice isn't a mistake if it comes to that (but don't think like that,be more confident)

It also depends on how many people apply for that course in the year.

If you just miss your offer then some (not all) Universities *may* still accept you.

    This will depend on :
    * How competitive the course is.
    * If they think they can get 'better' applicants than you via Clearing.

DO NOT rely on this as a tactic. If they asked for specific grades then THAT is what they know you need to do the course. So get revising.
