When you report a police sgt, do the police tell the officer who reported them. I reported one and I feel really guilty now and they know it's me because they sent me a message.

If you had a valid complaint against them, then why are you feeling guilty?

If you lodge a formal complaint, there will be procedures for keeping you informed about the progress of your complaint, so you should expect to receive communication about it.

The process will be different between police forces and the police officer involved won't automatically be told your name. However your complaint is going to have to describe exactly what happened and when, in order to be taken seriously. The office involved will be told the details of your complaint so that he can give his side of the situation. Any officer with a decent note-keeping system will be able to work out who you are.
