Hey everyone I have been working at the checkouts at a supermarket for now three years and I've started hating it in my second year. I am doing this job while I am going to uni and now currently in my third year. I hate my colleagues.. There are so many fake people and so many rude idiotic ones too. The customers are another bad thing but I got used to them. My manager takes so much advantage of my hard work attitude by making me do crazy hours and jobs such as trollies and baskets. He also lies and pretends he can't give me my holiday ..this is only because he wants me to work and not take time off.

I don't NEED the money as I have saved up a lot and I am now currently looking for work experience relating to my subject.

The only benefit is that I do one- two days but even those are crap and stressful. I feel this job helped me a lot but has come to the point where I'm hating it.

    What shall I do?

    Thanks

If its not possible to stick it out untill you have finished uni, you could look for a job somewhere else (shops, mcdonalds, other supermarkets). Hopefully the new place will be better. You might have savings and not need the money that much, but its always useful to have a job and have a bit of money. Even if its only for a reference at the end of it.

Wow!! are you really saying that you have saved enough. LUCKY!!
I work at mcdonald's in the lobby and it's been nearly 2 years and now, i want a change. I wanna work in supermarket or M&S or somewhere else different. The reason why i am still stuck there is because i am in college and i dont wanna take the stress of looking for a job and also i heard that in other places there is contract hours which means you cant work more than the contract hours as i need to work more to get a car and various other reasons. Seriously, had enough of mcdonalds (sick) . well, i thought checkouts are better, ain't they?

If you don't like it there and don't NEED to work, then I'd leave and look for something you enjoy. There's no point making yourself miserable especially if it's not somewhere you see yourself staying when you've finished uni
