    • Thread Starter

    Dear All,

Please advise of the following situation...

On 2 February “A” posts a letter to “B” offering to sell “B” an antique jewelery box for $500 and stating. “The offer shall remain open for acceptance for 10 days from the date of this letter”

Advise “B” in each of the following situations.

    a) A’s letter does not arrive but on 4 February B writes to A offering to purchase the jewellery box for $500.

    b) A’s letter is delayed in the post and only reaches B on 9 February. Fearing that his acceptance may not reach A in time, B telephone’s A’s wife and leaves a message with her that he wished to purchase the jewellery box. She forgets to convey the message to A.

    c) On 5 February A writes to B stating that he has decide not to sell the jewellery box. This letter reaches B after he has posted his acceptance of A’s offer.
