I thought MUTV would have it. I only signed up to it this summer to watch the pre-season games (and because it was £3 a month!), but after getting it, I realised that Rio's game wasn't going to be televised on it.

I'm not with BT Broadband, so I can't get it for free.

    Hmm, it's actually £12 a month. Plus a £15 activation fee!

I haven't seen any of the pre-season this year. I normally sub to MUTV during the summer but it's usually full of crap, the pre-season games are always dull as dishwater and they refuse to broadcast anything in HD so I've dropped it. If I wanted to see Rio's game I could've got a ticket pretty cheap but I can't be arsed especially with the shield 2 days later.

I can't get BT free either and I'm certainly not paying for it. Like all the other secondary sports channels before it that have failed I'll just stick with Sky and go the pub when it's on the other one.

I'm interested to see what the coverage is like.
I expect it'll be similar to ESPN and all the other channels before that ... a decent enough program in its own right but a poor substitute for Sky Sports.

I watched the emirates cup though BT, the scoreboard was in the bottom left and they have a little mini screen every once in a while when they want to focus on something in the bottom right sometimes. I think they go over the top with the studio and I don't really like the expert panel. Cant stand David James prefer Sky coverage tbh.

The lack of HD is one thing I dislike about MUTV. They really need to start showing matches in HD. You're right, though. Most of the coverage is pretty boring. I'd never keep it for the full season.

I've never bought the extra sports channel that's available. They're always way too expensive. An SD stream is better than paying £12 a month for multiple games that I probably don't want to watch anyway.

    Enjoy the game on Sunday!

Rooney wont be leaving Manchester United this summer. The only clubs that are definitely better than United at the moment are Bayern, Barca and Madrid. None of these clubs want him, and he wouldn't fit into their style/culture anyway.

We can't just buy another striker for the sake of it. How do you tell a player he will only be chosen when Rooney, Welbeck, RVP and Hernandez all get injured at the same time?

I assume you're talking about Morata? Morata knows he will most likely be playing in the first team in three years time. He wouldn't turn that down for a bench role at United.

Our strike force is still the best in the league. People seem to have forgotten that City have lost two top strikers in the last eight months (Tevez and Balotelli), so they're just replacing them. I don't think Negredo and Jovetic are any better than Tevez and Balotelli; although their attitude can't be any worse. Thus, I don't see any distinct improvement for City in that regard. Although, the introduction of Navas will give them a plan B.

People need to just cool down and trust in what we have. We have a lot of fantastic young players who can only improve and players who were complete *******s last season (Welbeck, Valencia and Anderson to name a few) and therefore can only improve. Ideally, I'd love us to sign Gustavo, but if we can't it doesn't mean we're doomed to fail. I'm still 100% confident that the current United side can win the league.
I would personally say Dortmund as well.

Lewandowski is being forced to stay even though he has publicly said he wants to go to Bayern. Because of this, I doubt he will play to the same level as he did last season (he scored 36 goals). Without Gotze and an in-form Lewandowski, I don't think Dortmund are any better than us.

The thing with dortmund is that since they sell a key player every year, it just leads to the team stagnating. I'd say that their squad last year was worse than the squad the year before, just that they performed better in the CL(overacheived personally if you consider their league form that season) which is why everyone is fawning over them. If they got to the final the year before I would say fair enough as they could have won a treble then.

I'll say this again, dortmund will end up like leverkusen in 3 years. The squad will be disgruntled when pep's bayern's winning title after title and key players will leave.

Not sure we can. Assuming Fletcher isn't going to be fit any time soon, we have Carrick, Cleverley and Anderson in midfield. Three isn't enough for a whole season because of injuries and midweek games. Of course we have makeshift CMs in Giggs and Jones, but I don't think playing those two there often is going to end well for us. So, you'd assume we need to get someone in.
I genuinely would be happy to throw a risk and allow more playing time for the likes of Lindgard and Januzaj. Listen, first season for Moyes I don't expect us to win anything and I wouldn't mind that (except I expect the community shield) I think blooding the youngsters in this season is really the only season in a long while we've had the opportunity to do so. Otherwise they'll end up like Pogba etc

In fairness, between now and the beginning of September, United are only on BT twice (Palace on the 14th at OT and away to Spurs on Nov 30th). I'm not complaining because I'm getting BT Sport free, but the other picks they have each week are hardly the huge clashes.

Nope I don't think Klopp will allow that, if you think we're better than Dortmund you would have to be dreaming, Dortmund beat Bayern 4-2 a couple of weeks ago, and were the only team that was close to beating Bayern last season, plus Sahin is back so they can play Gundogan at AM and they've brought Mkhitaryan, Lewandowski is not as great as people think, he was amazing against Real but a German friend of mine always complains at how many sitters he misses and the fact that BVB make him look better, put Hernandez upfront for BVB and he'll score 36 goals per season.

They're not CMs though, so playing them doesn't help our lack of CM options.

If Lew does as well as last year, BVB are probably better this year. They've made some good signings.

But we could play Powell at CM if we're to introduce the youth this season.

I don't really consider Powell a CM, even if that's where Fergie said he wanted to play him. He's always played at AM, so I'm not sure moving him back is going to work necessarily. But I'm happy to try it, better than him rotting on the bench, probably better than playing Giggs there too.

I'm sure I read that they were going to have a few of the biggest games and that will surely include United. I guess they'll be later on into the season.

I would happily agree with you. It looks like the specialised training he had hasn't worked since he was on MOTD2 towards the end of last season. His punditry is hardly any better aswell but he's just bearable doing that role. When you're in his position and you retire, so easy to get a pundit job when what you're saying is probably as dull as a plank of wood. Still enjoyed his time with us though!

It might be that that they get United games more when the secound round of picks happen for the second half of the season. Sky have got the better games but BT might nab them next time round.

When does the Rio match kick-off?

As expected, will need getting used to seeing Moyes occupying SAF seat in the dug-out.

Decent line up with the front three, excited by how they do.
