    An unusual compound of iron has been detected on the surface of the planet Mars. This compound contains the ferrate(VI) ion.
    (a) A student uses 1.00 g of iron(III) oxide and makes, on crystallisation, 0.450 g of sodium ferrate(VI), Na2FeO4.
    Calculate the percentage yield, by mass, of sodium ferrate(VI).
    Show your working.
    Express your answer to an appropriate number of significant figures.

    I dont even know where to start, I tried making an equation and got stuck, please help me get started on this question, thank you

    Find the total mass of iron in the iron(III) oxide and hence the number of moles.

    This must be equal to the moles of sodium ferrate(VI).

    Convert moles to mass for sodium ferrate(VI).

    Now calculate the percentage yield...
