Hi, I am a bit confused. To apply to do social work/nursing postgraduate course do I apply through ucas or ukpass? or does it not matter? I was in the middle of completing my ucas application and then noticed a site about ukpass. Some people also say something about apply directly to the uni?

This is the first I've heard of UKPASS. Most postgraduate applications are directly to universities, unless the university you want to study at specifies applications via UKPASS (in other words, ask your prospective university).

It won't be UCAS as that is undergrad only.

UKPASS is the UCAS service aimed at centralising postgraduate course applications. However it's been going since 2007 and only a limited number of universities are using it at the moment. Those on the list seem to want applications via UKPASS only - according to UKPASS, their application pages redirect you back to UKPASS anyway. Those not on the list will be maintaining their own individual application process.

...actually, there's some small print at the bottom of that university list which says that social work applications are via UCAS.

Just found: Search for postgraduate programmes through UCAS' postgraduate application service, UKPASS (UK Postgraduate Application and Statistical Service). You can apply online to universities and colleges using the scheme and there are links to universities and colleges who use other online application systems. Contact details are provided for those without an online system, so that you can check how they would like you to submit an application.

If you are applying for a subject listed below, please read through the following information.
•Music - for postgraduate courses in music performance, you apply through CUKAS (Conservatoires UK Admissions Service), unless the course is at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, who accept applications direct.
Social work - for degree qualifications (postgraduate and undergraduate) in social work, you apply through UCAS.
•Nursing - for diploma and degree qualifications (postgraduate and undergraduate) in nursing, you apply through UCAS
    .

•Teaching - if you are applying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education or a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education, then you apply through the GTTR (Graduate Teacher Training Registry). Teaching courses at undergraduate level are processed through UCAS

I am guessing i can apply through UCAS and university website? :/
