Anyone remember the game i think it was versus sheffield Utd or Wednesday, possibly in 1999 or 2000, where the lines man got knocked out, i just can't remember what year it was, i was there, but i just can't remember. Was the best pompey game i had been too..
"The achievement of Pompey over the last few weeks has been fantastic and I am relieved we have not been relegated. I am delighted at the way everyone at the club has shown commitment and spirit to achieve our objective which seemed to fade away up to the last minute of the Manchester City game. I would like to extend my hearty appreciation to all the staff working behind the scenes who have remained focused throughout, and whose effort and dedication should never be underestimated.
"I would like to thank and pay a special tribute to our Chairman, Mr. Milan Mandaric. One cannot fail to notice the respect and adulation shown by so many people to Milan for his contribution and dedication to Pompey through thick and thin. I would like to thank Harry, a football legend and pro, for a job well done. And the players, who have proven to be all about heart, spirit, unity, skill and excellence and have shown their true blue colours when the going got tough.
"And of course, the Pompey supporters, who turn every game into a home game and who are respected up and down the country for their fantastic support. You are the reason I am here and here to stay and to you all, I am committed.
"Pompey for me is the finest club in the world and this is just the beginning. I am happy that the efforts of my fellow directors and I since January have already had an impact on the club. In January I was asked and gladly offered my support to strengthen the squad. We brought in 9 new players, boosted motivation and helped in whichever way possible. However, the January efforts are merely the first step of a detailed few year plan aimed to secure Pompey's long term future while making it one of the finest English and European clubs. Our fans deserve nothing less.
"We are committed to spare no effort in paving this way to a bright future for Portsmouth Football Club, the Fans and the entire Portsmouth Community. We will work hard to establish professionalism and excellence throughout the club, both on and off the pitch, while ensuring that Portsmouth and its Blue Army are a true force to be reckoned with for many years to come."
