I've been wanting to join a swimming club- to make most of my skills and life. However I am not good at trying new things. What if they don't approve of me?? Don't like me??
    What should I do??? Thnks

Go for it! What's the worst that can happen? You get rejected and have to try again somewhere else. If it really matters there's no reason why you must tell others about not getting in, and you'll never see the people at the club again either.

    Best of luck! x

It would be helpful if you have some friends who'll want to join with you. Ask them.

If not, don't worry, just give it a go. It might be surprising, but a lot of people are nice and welcoming (I joined a bball club before, and the members there were really cool)

Just don't put on a facade to look 'cool', as they'll probably just think you're pretentious and that'll be counter-productive.
Of course, there's a chance it won't work, but at least you gave it a try!

I am similar, but you should really just go for it otherwise you'll never know what could have been. I used to be a keen hockey player, absolutely loved it. but when I was starting secondary school I didnt know anyone so didn't join the team, biggest regret ever! Seeing as later on I became friends with the PE group but by then it was too late. I also turned down the oppurtunity to play for my county, even bigger mistake!

At the end of the day, if you do go for it and it doesnt go well, you can always just leave, and atleast you've given it a go. If you don't you'll just never know and you will end up regretting it!
