    even though the muscle you gain in the abs/chest would pushthe fat out making you seem even fatter?

    If you're fat get on a calorie deficit, join the gym, do starting strength, add in some cardio on rest days.

    Push ups won't be making you gain that much muscle anyway but really it does seem the actual issue is loosing fat rather than whether you should do push ups or not
