iphone 3G screen watch

    • Thread Starter

So my iphone 3G screen has just gone totally white with a few black stripes down the right hand side. I'm guessing it's water damage. The internal phone is working as normal - when i plugged it into my computer, screenshots I'd taken were uploaded and it is all fine. I've put it in rice for 24 hours, just as a precaution but the screen is still broken. It isn't under any warranty so... What repair do I get? Do I send it off to a repair company? Or do I buy a 'LCD repair kit' from like amazon?

Buying the screen and replacing it yourself can be a bit risky, as things can go wrong. I found a local repair shop for mine, that fixed it for about 20 pounds within a day, once I bought the screen myself off the internet.
Do you think parents should charge rent?
