Hi everybody! First time poster, long time lurker haha.

I am currently in my second year studying English at Queen Mary University of London. Sadly because of family illness I will have to return home during what would be my third year.

My question is, what is the likelihood of me being able to transfer to Nottingham University to study English for my third year once my year out is complete? This University is a lot closer to home, which would make a world of difference.

Of course I know that no one can give me a definite answer here, but opinions and similar stories are so so welcome! I intend to call Nottingham and inquire but I would like to get a feel of my odds before I do that.

As for requirements, the course in Notts is AAA-AAB. I managed to get AAA in my A-Levels and will most likely be finishing my second year on a first.

I have also looked at the course content of the previous years and while they are not identical there are many overlaps between my studies at QM and the Notts course, meaning that there would not be a huge knowledge gap if I were to transfer.

Okay, thank you for reading everyone! If there is any more info I can give to help out, ask!

Transferring into 2nd year is quite common, not sure about 3rd year though.

Your course will need to be very similar to the one at Nottingham to have a chance really. Entry to 3rd year is rather uncommon.
