    I'm sure this question is pretty easy but for part a, I managed to differentiate it but when making it equal to 0 for the turning point, I'm not sure what they did and how the e^2x disappeared D:

    They factorised e^(2x) out and then noticed that e^(2x)=0 has no solutions.

    This step should be shown really.

    Also 1+\tan^2 x = \sec^2 x
