    Hello

    I am doing some research involving change scores where I am measuring scores before and after an intervention. For my main analysis I am using ANCOVA as previous research suggests that factors like reading will affect scores.

    However, I am also looking to see if reading certain genres will affect scores, which I am unsure about so it seems to me that I shouldn't be using an ANCOVA there as I don't know if they will affect the result, but I want to see if there is a relationship so is regression analysis the right technique to use here?

    I'm a bit rusty on stats, having not done anything for a year, but we need more info about your research to work it out. Anyway, here's a potentially helpful flow chart:
