Ok i've got a week off of work next week and don't particularly want to waste it doing nothing around the house. I've considered perhaps going up to Scotland, staying in a hostel for a few days and probably climbing Ben Nevis. Sound like a good idea or does anyone have any other suggestions?

I personally wouldn't climb the Nevis, its quite dangerous this time of year if your not experienced in ice and snow ... and that is from someone with a mountain leadership qualification.

But it is a beautiful area to yomp around a lower altitudes at this time of year, and you can summit some of the smaller peaks with relative ease.

North Wales is beautiful in the Winter also, spent the week before Xmas up there

That does sound quite random, tbh!

That being said, I would personally go out and do something - even if it's just a day trip to the next city or whatever.
