So I'm a first year at university looking for summer placements and spring insights. Ive recently recieved telephone interview, psycometric tests and am due to take part in an assesment centre for some of the spring weeks Ive applied too.

However when it comes to internships ive only been able to secure 1 with Enterprise rent a car. Now the prospects arnt that great with this company but an internship is an internship I guess .... I know the majority of internships are for penultimate and final year students but for first year the opportunities are slim and are taken very quickly....I was wondering has anybody gotten any decent Internships in there first year or had similar experiance to me? also is an enterprise rent a car internship a good start (btw I dont plan to have a career thier after I graduate)

Any internship is a brilliant start. Don't sell your achievements short because other people have been getting internships at Google or something.

Enterprise rent a car has decent prospects too. Working for large, well known companies at the start of your career will help you learn about how big companies work, and it'll help you in the long term.

I've had no luck getting any internships so far in my first year.

Good luck with all your applications.
