getting GUM results and cystitis not going away

Hey, does anyone know how long its meant to take to get your results from a GUM clinic posted/texted/phoned to you? I went three weeks ago, should i have them by now? They said their initial checks were clear at the time (i only went because of cystitis but they did the other checks as well)...does this mean that if everythings fine then they wont tell me?

Also, they gave me some antibiotics for the cystitis at the time, it was the first time i'd had it and i was in so much pain. It cleared up within a couple of days but now it seems to come back a lot, it always itches down there which at first i thought might be thrush as i know antibiotics can cause that, but there was no physical symptoms of thrush just a really bad itching. Now it hurts to pee every morning but it goes away through the day so its not as bad as the full blown cystitis. I'm really confused about whats going on and i'm fed up of not feeling normal down there as i never had any probs at all before. Cheers guys!

The person who asked you questions at the GUM clinic really ought to have told you when and how you would receive results. Quite often clinics do not contact you if nothing is wrong, but they generally make this clear. The safest thing to do is to phone them up and ask if everything was all right.

Concerning the cystitis, there's clearly still a problem there, and it's impossible to tell over the internet whether that's to be expected, whether the infection has reoccured, or whether something else has happened; the only sensible thing to do is to go to your doctor.

If you have all the tests it normally takes 3 weeks to get the results. If you haven't received anything then you are clean. After 3 weeks go to the GUM clinic and quote your number and ask for your results. They won't give it to you by phone. I hate those tests
