Title says it all really.
Recently I've discovered that I can't rely 100% on my friends, not even my "best" friends..sometimes I feel like our friendships are one sided wherein im always there for them but theyre never there when I need them and its me always making an effort with them..
Their behaviour towards their other friends makes me not trust them. for example when they tell me something that their other friend told them not to tell anyone..makes me realise I can't trust them with anything personal
Most of the time if I really want to talk to someone about something the only people i can turn to is my mum/sister
does anyone else have experience with something like this?

Yeah, I know what you mean.
I only have one friend I truly trust, but that's because I've known her since I was a toddler and she lives around the corner and she basically is a family. I consider her my sister and I call her parents auntie and uncle
Otherwise, the only people I know for sure I can rely on are my mum and dad.
No one will ever love you as much as your parents

can you even rely on your family is another question, the only certain person you can rely on is yourself.Last edited by abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz; 04-01-2013 at 05:14.

Naturally, relying on others leaves you open to being let down though.

Well personally I've found my family are the only people I can't rely on.

Friends come, friends go. Family comes, family stays. That's the underlying difference and why you would naturally have a bias towards your family in times of need.
