So I work hard and get through a graduate programme with Company A (which I really like). I was interested in Company B as well, but for a senior role. However, at the time of applying, Company B asks me to come back in mid 2013. I forget about Company B, proceed with the process for Company A and get through. I was given an offer letter and was asked to respond within a month. I went ahead and accepted it.

But now, Company B comes back and offers me an interview! What do I do?! The role offered is very strong and has a better profile (And I'm guessing, better £££s). I feel I would be a fool to throw it away, especially if I have a chance of cracking it.

Any advice on how to proceed? If I DO get selected at Company B and IF I go ahead with their offer, how do I tactfully withdraw my acceptance at Company A? Has anyone been in such a situation before? Is it too risky to consider Company B at this stage? A & B are more or less equal when it comes to reputation. Sorry, but am quite confused and a little upset at the moment.

    Would greatly appreciate any advice.

There's no harm in going through with the process for company B and seeing what happens. If you secure the offer you can pull out of the offer from company A, and if you don't then simply go ahead with company A as you planned.

I did something similar to this last year, pulled out of a grad scheme offer when one I preferred became available, they really don't care all that much. They have so many applicants and they'll expect a few drop outs. That said, give them as much notice as possible!

Thanks for the reply; quite reassuring. I'll keep this in mind.
