Politics, Philosophy and Economics or History? Undoubtedly History involves these three subjects, do you prefer learning about these subjects as part of something else or separately but combined in PPE?

What do you enjoy...History or PPE? On the History forum we would see the benefits to History, it's great, enjoyable, interesting but I'm sure that the PPE students would say the same. Both have good career prospects and are competative subjects. So yeah, what would you prefer to study for 3 yrs!?
I was torn between exactly the same decision! Basically came down to hte fact that most places study the philosophy of logic primarily, which i am not a huge fan of, preferring the phil. of religion, ethics. I also tried to read q widely, and its helpful if you sit down and ponder why precisely you want to do either subject. I know it sounds obvious, but sometimes its pretty hard to articulate! Gd luck

So in the end which subject did you go for?
Why not History and Politics? You get to study political philosophy so you can delve into the second P as well if thats what you like, and at some places weight your degree more towards history, international relations or political philosophy depending upon what you like...the only real question would then be would you rather do history or economics?

I would definately chose History. I don't really enjoy economics as there's way too much theory and of course MATH!!! :frown: :frown:

History and Economics?
History and Philosophy?

etc.
History and politics is a course which most PPE unis offer. History and economics is another choice i suppose, though for most people its the economics thats the turn off. I dont think you can do histphil at those unis.
