No one should be in a relationship where it doesn't work both ways. Love is a two way street, in your case it'd clearly a one way street. I know you're in love and it is an agonising thought but I do think you should seriously consider leaving him. If he has not been loving ever then what is to say that he could suddenly change? You can't expect something off someone that they may be incapable of giving. Don't let something painfully drag out and hurt you further.

I have been in a relationship just like this, I told him we should go on a break after 10 months, but then I realised that I missed him, so we got back together. However, less than a month later I decided that I was better off without him, and I missed the friendship we had, rather than the actual relationship, or him.
Breaking up with him was one of the best things I have done, I've been able to move on and find someone who makes me happy and feel special. He has also found multiple girls who just want to be friends with benefits, it was a win win situation.
This guy obviously isn't for you, so dump him and find the one who makes you feel special and loved. It will do you the world of good, even if the thought of breaking up with him is a terrible one.

As painful as it might be initially, move on
There are greater guys at there who will make you feel special and confident in yourself. : )

seriously you deserve so much better than this. If it's not making you happy, there's no reason to stay. Leave him, and hopefully you'll meet someone who will treat you better, because right now I can't see why anyone would want to be with someone this awful! good luck with it though, these things are never easy

This is a sad situation.
End it. For both of your sakes.
