In my essay, I have to repeatedly name a literary genre: "cantigas d’escarnho e de mal dizer". This is taking up a lot of my word count and is getting very repetitive. In lots of texts and articles i've read, they have abbreviated it to "CEM". If I use the full title the first few times and then proceed to abbreviate it, do i need to state that? e.g cantigas d’escarnho e de mal dizer (hereon referred to as CEM)?
