I have had bad flu now for a few days, but now i'm starting to wonder if it may be something else. I don't want to go to the doctor because if it IS flu then they'd want me to stay away.

Ok basic symptoms: high fever, sweats, excessive (yellow urgh) mucus, cough, aches, sore achey gums and a burning feeling in my stomach which may or may not be related.

I'm taking painkillers every 4 hours, trying to keep drinking and eating but it's so hard when all I want to do is sleep.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this might be? And tbh the gums are stupidly sore, I'd like some idea of how to ease the pain, other than painkillers which i'm already taking that is. Combined with everything else, I think I want to cry! ( woe is me etc....)
