    Hi there,

I applied for History and Economics at Hertford this year. I think my history interview went rather well but my economics felt a bit shambolic. The History Department made it clear that they might still accept you for single honours if the other department doesn't want you.

Would anyone happen to know if this happens often (I couldn't find any stats but I might have missed something)? Did it happen to any of you? I'm interested in anyone who applied for a joint honours course, not just my particular combination.

    Thanks in advance,

Happened to me. Applied for HistPol and got in for straight history. I really couldn't be happier with it. Hearing from the HistPol people about their course, I'm so pleased I'm not doing it.
