Ouch. I'm personally a little critical of moderation policy on this forum. I think it is generally too severe, and the effect of this is either censorship or to inhibit discussions. I tend to think less moderation is better in most cases, with obvious exceptions for abuse, etc.

But of course it's their forum so my opinion is only that - an opinion.

How many bans have you had now?

Well thank you, but I'm not going anywhere. I have to get banned first, and I'm going to be good. Or I might reincarnate myself as a different user before getting perma banned. Hmm I have options
Second account seems the better option. I've been banned three times already, my second account is already up and running, on different I.P. address, they'll never know.

You're banned too, no doubt for offensiveness/trolling. I'll support ya bro

Wouldn't go that far, but you're right that it's hardly a democracy, but that is the nature of capitalist enterprise.

Yes, the IP is what they do, its how they get you. I think I will reincarnate myself. Not yet, but if I get anymore points, I'll return as another.

Talk us through your feelings and emotions right now. Or just talk about anything to help you.

Ask yourself, why are you doing this? What is your ambition?

As another person said, read through some other threads that make you think a lot, such as a debate and contribute to it.
Emotion?? The guy needs to rub one out real bad dude! What emotion hahahah

2 weeks. Urges have been minimal, which is unusual. I normally go a week without and have gone 2 weeks quite a few times, although slightly difficultly. If I don't get urges this week it will be very strange indeed. Hopefully I'll start to see the benefits in the coming weeks.

14 days completed. I noticed some initial benefits but in the last couple of days things haven't been going so well. I'm going to keep going though.

I definitely think in the future fapping to pornography will be a much more publicised topic, and I'm surprised it isn't already as it's already been proven that both porn and sex can be addictive for certain individuals.
I'm pretty certain it has been proved - many people suffer from addiction to sex and it is relatively accepted in the medical community.

    (Original post by Sam00)
Does anyone think that before internet porn came along, a much higher percentage of males were more socially adept due to not having the convenience of a utopia of fap content at their fingertips?
May well have been the case, couldn't say for sure though.

    (Original post by Sam00)
And could this in some cases also explain a rise in male depression due to feelings of social inadequacy?
I'd probably agree with this. It's easy to get addicted, and once addicted it is very easy to feel inadequate; to be constantly confronted with explicit images of what you feel you will never have.

Congrats on making it this far. :congrats: I think simply feeling how able one is to abstain from an urge so powerful does much to reassure oneself of the worth of one's character, and this is likely to have knock-on effects elsewhere. I'm personally quite enamoured with this reaffirmation of my strength of will.

Alright, I think the most difficult part of this challenge is coping with being drunk. Whilst sober, I can do it no problem, but drunk (as I am now), my will power feels completely inhibited. I understand on a conscious level that I want to make it to the end of the year, but this doesn't translate at all to something my subconscious can understand, who simply wants to whack one out, overwhelmed by the beauty of whomever I've happened to have seen recently. My id wants to ****, and he's almost winning.

OK, things happens. Now you need to reflect on why it happened? What could you do to avoid this situation again?

On a personal level, I think it would be so much better if I could talk to someone in real life. Society and its taboos/jokes on this subject does not help. I think in about a month or when I feel ready, I'm going to start asking around and see if anyone wants to create a society/support group at my uni. Hopefully the Welfare and Diversity Officer will support this.

Maybe these trolls are paid members of the porn industry, trying to keep it alive at every opportunity they get...
I definitely wouldn't create a society for nofap IRL.. that would just be embarrassing and awkward for everyone. This is more of a personal thing you have to do within yourself, but if you are put off by society pressuring you that nofap is odd in anyway, we must remember than not too long ago public views promoting masturbation as healthy would have been a massive taboo itself. Fads change in society all the time, but common sense and real human issues don't.

In on this even if it's just for a few months. My record is 7 days lol. I was on a 2 day streak yesterday but gave in. What could I do? I was bored, led on my bed with my laptop. Dat HD porn...

Porn is actually something I want to get rid of rather than fapping itself. Any advice to stay away?

Part of success is reducing opportunities for failure. Use a technology like K9 to filter your internet or delete your porn stash.

What works for me best though is to know clearly exactly why the challenge is important to me, so that when I am in times of need, I can remember those reasons to help me restore clarity. Temptation is just temptation - it's always you who chooses whether to give in, or whether to punch life in the face and say, "not today!"
