    'Failed' at Day 14.

I don't regret it, masturbation itself is not a problem. Dependence on it is... had a hard day? Fap. Had a really good day? Fap. Bored? Fap. I'm not gonna fall back into the trap of fapping for any reason I can justify but I don't think abstaining indefinitely is the right approach either. Everything in moderation, eh? Where is the harm in doing it once a week, as long as you're not trawling porn sites for hours I'm sure you'll survive and be capable of functioning as a normal human being.

I honestly feel I have broken the cycle but you need to release some time!
My first release since I started, was a wet dream about 40 days in. I was having a sex dream at the time which lead to a wet dream, so at least I've had some release without sacrificing my 90 day target. I think it's good that you've had that realisation. A lot of the times I'd spend about an hour looking for the perfect vid to finish to. I don't think that's a particularly healthy thing to do, so I'm glad I've got out of that habit. Once I reach 90 days I'm not gonna carry on, because I agree that abstaining indefinitely isn't necessary. Have you noticed any benefits in the 14 days you did manage to abstain?

Wear a condom every night, then if you did *** you feed it back to yourself. Or wear a chastity belt with urethral tube to send that *** right back.
Haha, every night.. That won't cost you a bomb

It was day 60 yesterday, a stupendous achievement.

I have been considering whether I want to continue for the whole year, or whether I can continue to eke benefits out of it. At the very minimum I will go for the 90 days, and I want to consider this decision now before the proximity of a potential finish-line doesn't bias my judgement.

One idea I had was to have a permanent system whereby I would use NoFap as direct motivation to continue to meet women: Every time sleeping with a person with would buy me 1 month of FapFreedom. This way, there would always exist continual pressure to continue positive changes to my lifestyle, and should I slip up for a while, NoFap would be there to slap me round the face and give me a fresh wake-up call.

Alternatively, I could cease after the 90 days and test the waters, see if I can adopt a system that permits it sparsely, so that I continue to remain in control of my desires, yet also receive the benefits of occasional release.

Yet again, I could see this challenge through to the end as originally intentioned, but I am in two-minds over whether going for the full year is justified ipso facto - and if it is justified in this way, then why should I stop after one year and not simply make it permanent? These are still questions I need to answer.

Anyway, things are going well for me at the moment. Over the weekend I did a course to become an instructor in one of my hobbies, which meant teaching in front of people (strangers). My feedback was very positive: confident, good explanations, observant, smiling, etc. It is more evidence that I am very much on the up-and-up.

2013 is turning out very well so far - I expect a lot from it.

God haven't being here in ages, I think I may do twice every 2weeks, otherwise I'll go insane and it'll distract me from studying (which a few weeks off made me go, I couldn't focus at all)

The days are flying by now, I just try not to think about it often because it ends up dragging. If you just ignore it, which is becoming a lot easier now, you don't even realise how quick the days rack up.

Yeah. It's amazing how quickly it feels it's gone by for me too.

That's such bs. I can't imagine any doctors telling me I should masturbate 5 times a week to stay healthy. An apple/fap a day... -.-

Well it's a published scientific article (and many others articles that claim this) so it can't be entirely bs.

I don't see how this scientific conclusion is completely improbable. Ejaculation is an important physiology response for males, it helps by allowing science to continue along its timeline. Ejaculating regularly is certainly better than excessive/non-existent ejaculation. If ejaculation is happening too much or too little, the body can tell its owner that it's time to release or refrain.

The article mentions how it may reduce risk. This isn't to say ejaculating frequently will be completely eradicate the chances of ever developing prostate cancer. Nature is spontaneous, a person can develop prostate cancer irrespective of how many times they ejaculate. Many things can reduce risk, this isn't to say they should be followed religiously.

Actually, eating a fruit or veg a day is generally considered 'better' than not eating any at all. This isn't to say you will indefinitely remain healthy. It just reduces the risk imposed if no healthy food is consumed.

The image is exaggerated, I'm obviously skeptical about the number many times a person needs to ejaculate.

The image was funny to me and it reminded me of this thread, sorry if I offended anyone.

          Still getting laid most days.

          Still masturbating like a fiend.

Benefits: improved cardiovascular fitness, less likely to get prostate cancer, keeping the ****** in working order (obviously not a problem for a young, healthy person, but if you partake in this nonsense abstinence yo' **** ain't gonna be as good, especially as you age), improved mood and immune system, etc., etc.

Drawbacks: not wasting time on other things? Like **** do all you guys actually put these hours to any better use.
