I'm afraid I too will be joining the tl;dr bandwagon
I am confused. I am a healthy male, and I just read that this might increase my motivation and help me get better grades and on more chicks.

Why would anyone fap if they knew this. I will be ruthless on No Fap.

IN today. Bodybuilding.com's version of this is much better.

Because "might" is pretty dubious. Because the "science" behind it is junk.

Because the source of the ideas, Gary Wilson and Marnia Whatsherface, espouse a highly homophobic ideology and give bizarre and irresponsible advice to people who are extremely unwell mentally.

When someone espouses this homophobic ideology, this junk science, you can usually be confident that their claims will have about as much validity as someone who makes claims about a "Jewish conspiracy"

I've been doing it as an exercise of self-control. Will power behaves like a muscle, so I regularly look for arbitrary challenges to strengthen it.

Are you sure? Can you please explain why you think it is bogus. I consider myself Rationally minded before anything, but I don't want to hop on board the crazy train.

I am not an extremist but it makes sense to me. If I don't watch porn, I will feel an impetus to get real life social reactions. Its seems congruent with anything I've read in Economic/Psychological Theory if anything.

I have no intention to watch the videos/documentaries right now, I have too much school work to do, need A*AA. But:

    1. More Energy (on a 7 Day Cycle)
    2. An impetus to fulfill any urges I have in real life through socialising
    3. Higher Productivity (PSEUDOSCIENCE, but ultimately I can vouch for this on personal experience, one less thing to worry about).

So what is so wrong with trying it? You seem smart enough so I would like to hear what you have to say.

" On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline ( P < 0.01)."

    Yup, this.

There's absolutely no evidence that stopping masturbation is in any way beneficial.

On the other hand, we do know that unnaturally suppressing your sexual instincts leads to neuroses, mental illness and feelings of guilt and shame.
To clarify I've only jumped on this band wagon for around 12 hours but No Fap isn't about stopping Sex, its just Masturbation.

You can have as much sex as you won't - that's the whole point. Most people are literally not going to be able to have as much Sex as they Masturbate unless they are in a Full Time Relationship with a Stripper....

Here is the one I am following: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...2565923&page=1

am i still in this?. i keep starting and stopping cos i keep failing but il keep going ima start again. i dont know why people on here are defending masturbation lol as if its a good thing islam every religion and even non religious people tells you its wrong and unnatural way as opposed to the normal way of
i may do it at the moment but i dont defend it never since i began dont care what anyone says i wont listen to views in favour of it as of my experiences have never been good and it never did goof for me haha so dont bother encouraging me to do it to the next person who replies. trust me dont **** its no good its another type of procrastination, waste of time, gives you guilt as soon as your done no benefit to it, causes severe addiction extremely hard to stop, interferes with your life drastically, causes isolation social isolation and lonliness this happens to many people probably majority of those who are addicted dont want to do anything else and cant keep it off your mind always looking for next time you get the opportunity or when your alone, most of this is my experiences as well. because its a private subject, taboo and not talked about much openly makes it harder to get help too.
the list is endless. anyway keep giving me advice and tips how you lot do it everyone who is doing this just quote me before thanks so i know

Hang on. I think you need to be quite clear; are you talking about porn or masturbation? Clearly both operate on quite different physiological levels.

Its seems congruent with anything I've read in Economic/Psychological Theory if anything.
I disagree, insofar as both economics has little to do with physiology, an that it is clearly based on bogus theories of biology.

" On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline ( P < 0.01)."
Except the same study shows return to baseline levels of testosterone on day 8. It shows normal testosterone days 1-6, and days 8-beyond.

Anti-masturbation proponents seem to operate under the mistaken belief that it increases overall levels of testosterone, when clearly it does not (even following the single, dubious study cited).

Clearly, you should feel extremely guilty. Self-flagellation might be the only option.

i dont know why people on here are defending masturbation lol as if its a good thing islam every religion and even non religious people tells you its wrong
Well, that settles it. If Islam says it's wrong, who am I to argue?

Btw, what do you think of homosexuality?

I'm talking about Masturbation. I will No-Fap on a Maximum 7 Day Cycle.

Yup, I'm doing it now. There is no real evidence to say that doing this is dumb. It will benefit me in every way. Already got a close friend on board - no homo.
