Here's something else for you: http://www.webmd.com/prostate-cancer...te-cancer-risk

Everyone is aware of the 2003 study by the Australians saying that masturbation reduces the risk of prostate cancer. How about reading this more recent study's findings. Obviously the former study is a lot more popular so you don't hear about this one so much.
Did you read the article you posted? This part caught my attention:

What's going on? The study wasn't designed to answer that question. But Dimitropoulou and colleagues have some theories.

They suggest that young men genetically predisposed to have hormone-sensitive prostate cancer will be at higher risk if their bodies naturally produce high levels of male hormones -- the same hormones that give them an intense sex drive.

So it's not masturbation itself that's increasing prostate cancer risk in young men. More masturbation may just mean more sex drive -- and more androgens bathing prostate tissues.

Nothing major. There's a slight motivation to change other things about myself that I didn't have before, but I think that's come from the idea of No Fap rather than an actual effect of it.

And of course there are some direct benefits of not ****ing e.g. not having to panic when I hear someone outside the door when I've got about 7 tabs of porn up and penis in hand.

It has been fairly easy so far, I think this thread actually gives me some motivation (before I've struggled to go on more than 3 days).

Keep it up guys (excusing the pun) - it should get easier later on (not as in, libido should decrease; rather, self-control and willpower should increase and take rein over that raging libido)! We're all in this together!

Well, if he's had sex, then the no fap thing wouldn't be so hard. It'd be p1ss easy! :ahee:

It's much harder for single lads such as myself.

I make it 118 still in as of skyblue1991 plus 2 failures. I think at least 110 of those are male.

Reckon you could use that to keep count in the OP? And just alter it as more join and as people fail?

Yeah I did read it, but it does say that's just a theory. The science does still show a correlation but I think it's weak. I'm not going to try and argue that it's bad because there's not really any conclusive evidence that it might be. But you never know what research could prove in the future.

I just feel that the evidence for masturbation being good for your health is exaggerated too much. Yes, there's scientific proof but it's hardly a panacea which many people seem to think it is. i.e "A fap a day keeps the doctor away".

The second day of this endeavour has been rather easy. Of course, it is not over for another 6.5 hours, but I feel fine so far.
