Depends in what context? Maybe he was trying to serenade you?

If a guy says to you "the wheels on the bus go round and round" what does it imply?

could be anything... he could for example be just reminiscing about childhood nursery rhymes

If he's 5 years old, then he's probably telling you about his favourite song.

Anyhows, you need to give people more information than just that. You need to tell us what you were talking about and give people some context to give you a decent answer.

he's implying that you're a slag, of course. isn't that what you thought?

Reply 5

Sounds to me like he's been fiddling with the bus wheels and is expecting them to fall off.

But maybe he's just escaped from a mental asylem?

Reply 6

Maybe he's making an insightful comment into the futility of life as expressed by the continuous circular motion of the wheels on a bus.

Ahem, sorry...it's 2am and I'm reading a weird article about philosophy and rhetoric.

Maybe he's just reverting to childhood. The guys I know do this scarily often, although perhaps not in the form of randomly quoting kids' songs. Or perhaps it's a *postmodern* (as in completely random and nonsensical) chat-up line?

OK, I'm going to bed now before I say anything else weird.

Just in case you guys happen to not just be humouring the original poster, I think this thread is meant to be a joke, albeit an entertaining one.

I don't know about you, but so far as I'm concerned it positively smacks of being an apposite allegory for the meta-synthesis of Hegelian dialectical materialism.

In which case, congratulations: it looks as though you've bagged yourself a smart one, there.
