Studying abroad in January at warwick with some gap weeks and was wondering if students traveled during the school year. Would I find someone or groups that can go to Barcelona for the weekend, etc? Or are people pretty serious/Warwick pretty inaccessible?

There might be some societies organising trips, I'm not sure. Most people go home for reading week (I'm guessing that's what you're referring to) or stay at university.

In terms of being connected, Warwick isn't too bad. The closest major airport is Birmingham - you can get there by either walking to Canley station or getting the bus to Coventry station then it's a train ride of a few minutes to the airport.
