So this is the mark scheme for a question i've been doing and I got the wrong answer. However, the problem i'm having is that i'm putting 0.5 * 4^2 * 1.1 (In radian mode) and i'm getting 7.129, not 8.8 like the mark scheme.
    Am i doing something wrong?

I'm getting 8.8 with both degrees and radians mode.

I'm afraid so. You don't know how to operate your calculator by the look of it. Radian mode does not affect this calculation as you are not using the trigonometric functions.

    Type in 0.5 x 16 x 1.1. Ok now?

Degrees and radians have no effect on it as pi isn't involved or a trig function. 8.8 is the right ans.

Reset your calculator, no idea how you're not getting it.

    Thanks

    GOT IT. I was doing 0.5 * 4^2 * sin(1.1)
edit: the reason I thought a trig function was involved was because I was using sin

Must be 8.8 because 4 squared is 16, half of that is 8 and 8 elevens are 88
