No. They want you to have DDD in your BTEC. As they don't explicitly say anything's bout the maths A-level it has no bearing on your acceptance so long as you get your DDD.

If, however, you drop to DDM, having a good grade in the maths A-level may swing thing back in your favour if it came down to your or someone else with DDM.

You will come out with grade U in that exam and I believe the universities will be informed, just like they are with any other exam result.

You may as well sit the exams - it looks slightly better to even come out with grade D in the A-level than a U. It would either be that or let the university know that you aren't sitting the A-level (although I'd doubt they care very much, given that it has nothing to do with your offer).

I'm fairly sure that's how it works.

They can't normally change it once you've firmed it. However if you change something about your application (eg drop the Maths A level) then they do have a right to change their offer, even though it doesn't ask for a particular grade in Maths A level. This doesn't mean they necessarily would, but they could either raise your offer or decide to remove the offer if you dropped the subject.

I think I will just sit the exams, too much stuff to concern if i drop Maths:- explaining to exam center, call ucas for advice, email university to re-consider my application etc. just don't think worth it now..

it's better to take it as failing won't affect anything but dropping it will
