hehe . It's just that St andrews has quite a small student population and I'm a bit worried... I mean can you imagine if there was a university with no boys in? Plus I got a bit freaked out when the tour person said that the majority of students get married there O_o
Ah! marriage????????????, me being straight and that freaks me! there must be i refuse to accept that everyone is straight. it being so international it must be cosmopolitan.

In the socities booklet it says there is a LBGT soc, so there must be some.
problem solved!
I'd heard that thin about the majority of students meeting their future spouses their... isn't that so weird? I'm not surprised though. St. Andrews is a very romantic town, where everyone's very close knit.

And as for the puritan Christian aspect to St. Andrews, it hardly dominates the town the way it did hundreds of years ago... I mean sure, there are as many Christians proportionally as at any other uni, but ask almost anyone on this forum and they'll probably tell you that they're either atheist or tolerant Christian.

I'm a christian but support same-sex relationships. I wrote an essay on it last week.

and yes, there's a LGBT society.
Don't worry. I've been on the Sinner Personal Ads Boards (not that I'm scouting out future prospects... haha I'm just a curious person, I swear!) and I've seen plenty of gays interested in finding likeminded partners. If you are really desperate, you could always respond to one of those ads... don't know what kind of gay lover you'd get though... maybe only the bad looking ones post those kinds of ads. lol. j/k.

And I would not consider myself a particularly religious person, so obviously not everyone is that way. If you hang out with me I won't condemn you for sleeping in on Sunday... lol. Actually though the Bible can be a fascinating read; I got really bored in choir competition and it was the only book I could find and it beat watching the umpteenth choir preform Ave Maria.

I can see St. Andrews being an excellent place to have a girlfriend/boyfriend... close proximity, nice atmosphere, someone to see when you're bored etc.

Yes, there are gays in St Andrews. In fact, one of my housemates from last year is gay...nice guy, too.

Don't forget agnostic :p:
Although I don't believe in a specific "higher power", I'm open to the possibility that there is one.

It would be, yes...I've never had much luck with love, but there's plenty of potential for going out and having a good time with a loved one if you have a loved one, unlike me :frown:
