What have you written about? No sense in repeating things you already know
ok so far ive written about the importance of membranes in
1- diffusion 2- rates of diffustion ( i related that to ficks law ) 3- fertilisation 4- Respiration and photsysnthis is plants 5- horome receptors 6- properties of a membrane 7- structureo of the membrane and how that relates to its improtance

1. Think about faciliated diffusion (movement of ions through channels) as well
3. The only thing I can think of as relavent is the prevention of polyspermy
4. Respiration is good... phosphorylation of glucose to provide a higher conc inside cell than outside / formation of H+ gradient in mitochondria...etc.
Capillaries and formation of tissue fluid is another good one to talk about...
If you're doing microbes and disease you can talk about bacteria and anitgens- cell recognition etc, you can write a bit about that anyways since from mod1 you know that there are carbohydrates attatched to the membrane that can allow cells to be recognised. Also, maintanance of ion gradients in nerones - thats to do with ion channels. Basically controlling what enters and leaves cells - stops cells lysing or shrinking.
