Anything with complex carbohydrates, e.g. pasta, as this stops you from feeling hungry through your whole exams. Also, take a sugary drink into exams with you, as brain cells can only utilise Glucose as a source of energy. This should keep you topped up and able to concentrate (unless you drink too much and need a pee!)

Of course, neither of these should be used as a substitute for revision...

We're only allowed to take water into exams with us. Do lucozade do a clear version?

Reply 3

Yes they do. It's called 'Citrus Clear' or something.

Well my boyfriend ate a banana before every exam he went in to. But i read that although bananas give you a boost of energy, it wears off leaving you feeling tired (same goes for coffee). Hmm, i think fruit and veg is good in general i was just hoping there was something more specific. Does lucozade really help? Will it last a whole exam? what's good for drinking during revision? xxx

I think nuts and berries are suppose to be good for you.

Fizzy juice can dehydrate very quicky and very easily. So i don't recommend that at all. Possbly some form of flavoured water if your looking for an energy source that wont dehydrate you. Just make sure it's not carbonated. Eat plenty of fish, pasta, bread, potatoes etc etc.

Jaffa cakes are good, they have orange in which is a fruit and full of good vitamins and minerals... but possibly not when they have been mutilated and squished into jelly...

Definetly.

Before I sit down to revise I always make sure I have a pack of jaffa cakes/hob nobs/rich teas. Any kind of biscuit really.

Can't work without them.

Bananas are good for you - loads of revision books recommend you eat a banana about half an hour before going into the exam.

not really considered as 'food', but everytime when I revise, drinking large amount of Chinese tea can make me concentrate. The down side? I go to toilet twice every hour and like a giant human water filter. Not sure about getting kidney stones lol
