Hey all,

I'm currently redoing Year 12 due to some personal issues that resulting in me screwing up my AS Levels last year. I recently emailed every UK medical school explaining my situation, and most (excluding UCL and a few others) have said that they will accept my application as long as I meet the entry requirements etc..
What I would like to know is how rare/usual it is for a certain medical school to give offers, so that I can really think about where is worth applying (as long as I meet the criteria of course).

Has any retake candidate successfully gotten into medical school?

I have a friend who's just had an offer from Imperial last week- he retook all of Year 12 and some of 13 because of a personal problem that meant he missed lots! He said it was really useful to have something to show that he persevered with medicine through- so it's definitely worth trying! Good luck
