Hey! All the WJECers out there can use this thread to talk about C2 and what we think about it and post exam answers if you want!

Wish me luck, such a nice birthday present from the examiners!:mmm:

I didn't go! I was snowed in

I'd be grateful if anyone had a paper so I could see! Do you remember any questions for me?

I won't be in college for a while, but I'll see if my teacher has a copy of the paper the next time I see him.

Do you remember the exact question? Did it differ from previous questions?

no it was really strange, like instead of giving the equation of the line and the curve, they gave you the curve equation and told you that the line was a tangent to it and you had to find the gradient etc to work out the formula! Bit cheeky really...

basically it was one of those questions with 2 parts and if you couldnt do the first bit then you couldn't do the second bit, managed it somehow though thank goodness! just hoping it was right...

Unfortunate for those that didn't manage the first bit then, as the shaded area bit with all the integration and number crunching is quite a few marks generally.

What kind of mark do you think you got? Do you expect grade boundaries to be down (i.e. do you feel it was a lot more challenging than past papers)?

Well I came out and people thought it had generally gone really badly so I've got a feeling they'll be low boundaries...
The paper was a bit cheeky in a few places, wording things awkwardly etc
But i really want an A so I hope i didn't drop too many marks!!

My friend said it was a challenging paper, but that she coped well enough with it. She said she strolled through the first three or so questions and was expecting a standard series proof, only to be greeted with first principles... I'm guessing that will have caught a few off guard?

First Principles what?
Not too sure, as I've not seen the paper and only had a quick chat with her to see how she got on with it. Something about first principles in the arithmetic question though, and that there was no proof. Therefore, I'm guessing first principles had something to do with the proof...

Hopefully, Alice will be able to shed some light on this!
